Mysterious Xiaomi Device Poses for the Camera, Featuring Snapdragon 615 and 2GB of RAM

Mysterious Xiaomi device Redmi Note perhaps

Xiaomi is the number one smartphone manufacturer in China and this company is spreading like wildfire. They’re already selling tons of devices in India via Flipkart, are close to open up shop in South America starting with Brazil and are planning to take on Russia soon as well. Xiaomi really means business, these are the biggest markets in the world and the company could grow even further if these expansions go through as planned. There’s a good reason for moving abroad though, growing a company is one of them, sure, but the competition in China is fierce and Xiaomi wanted to open more options / markets to sell its devices in.

Xiaomi leaks just keep on coming, we’ve seen a mysterious back cover leaked recently and now a mysterious Xiaomi device is caught on camera. As you can see in the image above, upper back part of a mysterious handset has leaked. In addition to this, the source claims this device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615, a 64-bit octa-core processor. 2GB of RAM will allegedly also be a part of this package as well as a 13-megapixel camera. 5.5-inch 1080p display will allegedly be its screen size and the device will ship with a 3500mAh battery. This will also be a dual-SIM capable device and will sport 4G LTE connectivity. Its price is sub-1499 Yuan ($245) according to the source.

These are rather respectable specifications which put this device in the upper mid-range category. We still don’t know which device this belong to, but if I had to guess a new version of Xiaomi Redmi Note or something like that. The specifications definitely fit the bill here and this could be yet another hit for Xiaomi. Considering Meizu is planning to launch their MX4 Pro handset in November, we could see Xiaomi do the same with this handset rather soon. These two companies are really trying to top each other in China, which is great for us, they come up with extremely affordable and yet powerful devices for us to buy. Not all of those devices reach consumers outside of China, but still, competition is always good.
