Moto 360 Coming to TELUS and FutureShop Oct 31

Everybody has been waiting for the new Moto 360 smartwatch and Canada is no different – finally an official tweet from Motorola Canada lets us know that it will be available for sale on the TELUS's website, their retail stores, and online at the FutureShop starting October 31.  According to the twitter questions and answers, the Moto 360 will be available in Stone Gray and Black Leather for $279 before taxes, of course.  The Moto 360 has been available in the U.S. since September, but with the huge demand it has still been hard to get your hands on the device.  While the Moto 360 has been applauded for its design and material usage, the battery and performance have been somewhat of a let down, although a recent upgrade from Motorola has helped with the battery life.  Most people want to be able to wear their watches for several days before they need a charge, but so far 1-2 days is about the most you will get out of any of the Android Wear devices.

Even though the Samsung Gear Live and the LG G Watch were released long before the Moto 360, it has been the Moto 360 that has garnered all of the attention.  The casing is made from stainless steel and with a height of 11.5mm and a diameter of 46mm it still only weighs in at 49 grams.  It is also IP67 rated for water resistance allowing for a quick 30-minute swim.

Motorola also went a little different inside and bypassed on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, found in the other Android Wear devices, and went with a TI OMAP 3 CPU with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.  The 320mAh battery helps keep your Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Energy) connectivity to get through a full day of usage.  It also comes with a pedometer for keeping tracks of your steps and wireless charging – just drop it on the wireless charging pad each night…really nice not to have to deal with wires or clip-on docks.

Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you are excited by the new Moto 360 and if you plan on getting one as soon as it is released or do you already have a smartwatch that you are happy with…as always, we would love to hear from you.
