India is the world's fastest growing smart phone market, with both large and small handset manufacturers duking it out for a piece of the action. Manufacturers such as Intex might be virtually unknown outside of India, but they have quite the portfolio of smart phones for sale via their website. We've covered some of their other handsets such as the Aqua T2 before and here we have their latest offering, the Aqua Amaze as pictured above and in the gallery below.
What does the Intex Aqua Amaze bring to the table? Well, its a mid-range device and the almost obligatory MediaTek processor is present, in this case its the Octa-Core MT6592M CPU that is clocked at 1.4GHz. There is 1GB of RAM present, with 8GB of internal storage included. The Aqua Amaze supports Micro-SD cards, which means internal storage can be augmented by a further 32GB of memory. The 5-inch IPS HD display has a resolution of 1280 x 720, using OGS (One Glass Solution) technology to reduce the thickness of the display by removing one of the glass layers from the traditional stack. The Aqua Amaze has dimensions of 145 x 70 x 7.6mm, so its quite slim. Power is stored in the 2,000mAh battery which is said to be good for around 7-8 hours of talk time.
One the front of the device is a more than handy 5MP camera, and there is a 13MP camera on the rear sporting Auto-Focus and Flash. The rear camera has the usual sort of added features such as Panorama Shot, Face beauty, Live Photo Mode and HDR amongst others. As is customary with smart phones aimed at the India market, there is support for Dual-SIM's (3G +WCDMA only), with Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS connectivity. FM Stereo and a 3.5mm headphone jack are present. The Intex Aqua Amaze is Google certified, meaning that the full suite of Google apps are present and Intex have pre-installed their own Intex Zone app as well. The handset runs Android version 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
The Intex Aqua Amaze is available in black and white, and is set to sell for Rs. 10,690 ($174), and included in the case is a travel charger, data cable, set of earphones, screen protector and a phone case, along with the phone naturally.
