Huawei is an interesting company. They have enjoyed an extremely high degree of success in their native China but have yet to really impact on Western markets. This maybe about to change though with the launch of their newest device, the Honor 6. Now this is mainly geared towards the European market at the moment which makes very little sense based on the device name. Being a Brit and talking about a device hitting Europe while referring to it as 'Honor' just seems wrong. As much as I would like to be telling you about the Honour 6, I can't. Instead, meet the Huawei Honor 6.
In terms of what's on offer the Honor 6 comes with a 5" LCD IPS display. The resolution for those that need to know is 1080 x 1920. Inside the device is powered by Huawei's own Kirin 920 Octa-core processor. Again for those that need to know the processor consists of 4 x Cortex-A15 cores and 4 x Cortex-A7 cores with a Mali-T628 GPU. The rest of the specs seem eerily in line with another Chinese OEM, OnePlus One. The Honor 6 comes with 3GB RAM, a 3000mAh battery and available in a 16GB variant (there is also a 32GB on offer too). Although unlike the OPO this one comes with an external microSD card slot. In terms of cameras the Honor is again bang-on with the OPO offering a 13MP rear shooter and whopping 5MP front shooter. Lastly in terms of Android the Honor 6 comes loaded with Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) albeit with Huawei's only Emotion UI 2.3 stapled on top.
Also in line with OPO it seems Huawei have opted to cut out the middle man with the Honor 6 and are now offering the device direct to the public (albeit via Amazon) and carrier free. If you are interested then the device is currently available to the UK market for £249.99. Again the price is eerily close to that of the OPO. However unlike the OPO this one seems to have no stock issues or invites needed. You can just head over to Amazon's UK arm and grab it. Of course, you should know that although you can now buy the device it is only at the pre-order status and won't begin shipping until November 10th. Still with November only days away that is not that long. Are you Europe based? Will you be picking up the Honor 6 at this great price (off-contract remember)? Dont you just hate the lack of a 'u' in Honor? Whatever your thoughts let us know.
