Hisense U978 Is On Sale Today For Just 399 Yuan

Hisense is a China-based electronics manufacturer and if you live outside that country chances are you're not familiar with their products. This company is a typical Chinese manufacturer, nothing that special about it. Today is National Day of the People's Republic of China and the company has a rather good offer for Chinese customers as part of it. Hisense is offering their Hisense U978 device via Jingdong mall for 399 Yuan, which comes to $64.99. This is a great offer either way you spin it, you really can't beat the price. This is, of course, not a spec beast, far from it, but for that price point I'd argue it's worth it. Anyhow, let's talk specs.

The device features a 5.5-inch 960 x 540 IPS display along with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card). The device is powered by MediaTek's MT6582 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. On the back of the device, you can find a 5-megapixel camera while there's a 0.3-megapixel shooter located on the front of the device. This is a dual SIM device and it comes with a 2500mAh battery. The usual array of sensors and connectivity options are all included. Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G WCDMA 900/2100MHz, Bluetooth, FM Radio, GPS... and so on. The device measures 155.5 x 80 x 10.35mm and weighs 106 grams. Android 4.2 comes pre-installed on this device.

As I said, this device is far from being a spec beast, it's quite the opposite actually. 4GB of internal storage can prove to be a problem considering you can't move your system apps to external storage (presuming your device is not rooted of course) and those apps are getting bigger and bigger. I can find tons of downsides to this device and I believe you can too, but do keep in mind we're talking about a 399 Yuan device here and if you're not willing to pay more you'll hardly find something like this priced that low.
