Sony announced their Xperia Z3v model of the Xperia Z3 today at the Demand Great event held in New York, a device meant for the shelves of Verizon Wireless retail stores later this Fall. October 23rd to be exact, and at a price of $199 on a 2-year contract. The phone is largely the same as the regular model of the Sony Xperia Z3 that we saw shown off last month, save for a couple key details. The Verizon logo is of course stamped on it in a couple of places. Besides that though the Xperia Z3v will also come with a 3200mAh battery compared to the 3100mAh capacity in the original model, and it has embedded wireless charging. Something we'd have like to see on the Xperia Z3 but it isn't the end of the world.
Other than that the Xperia Z3v is the same device. It carries the same camera and processor as the original, and has all the same features and functions like PS4 Remote Play, Xperia themes, and 4K video recording. Our own Alex Maxham is hands on at the event and was able to grab a bunch of pictures for us of both the black and white models of the Xperia Z3v, even some showing the PS4 Remote Play in action. How about that? Any Verizon Wireless Subscribers excited to pick up this phone? Check out the image gallery below and see what you think.
