Google has quite recently announced the new version of Android OS, 5.0 Lollipop. Along with that announcement, Google also announced a couple of Nexus devices. Motorola Nexus 6 phablet and HTC Nexus 9 are Google's newest offerings, though the company also announced Nexus Player console. Pre-orders for these devices have already started in certain countries and as far as Nexus 9 is concerned, they just started in Hong Kong as well. Let's see, 16GB Wi-Fi version of Google's newest tablet will cost you 3088 HKD ($398) while the 32GB version will set you back 3688 HKD ($475). Furthermore, Nexus 9 4G variant is priced at 4288 HKD ($552). Please do note that you'll have to wait 2-3 weeks while you get these devices though if you live in Hong Kong. These prices are significantly higher than the ones in the US, pricing starts from $399 over there, but that was to be expected.
Alright, so, HTC Nexus 9 is really a beast of its own. The device comes featuring an 8.9-inch 2K (2048 x 1536) IPS LCD display along with 2GB of RAM for all your multitasking needs and either 16 or 32GB of non-expandable internal storage. This tablet is powered by NVIDIA's Tegra K1, a 64-bit dual-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz which comes with Kepler DX1 GPU for graphics processing. On the back of this beast, you can find an 8-megapixel camera and a LED flash while there's a 1.6-megapixel shooter located on the front of the device. Nexus 9 ships with a non-removable 6700mAh battery while Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this device. Nexus 9 measures 228.2 x 153.7 x 7.9mm and weighs 425 grams (Wi-Fi model) / 436 (3G/LTE model). Nexus 9 sports a nice metallic frame and looks sleek overall, you can also see that it's pretty thin, coming at 7.9mm thickness. HTC's BoomSound speakers are also a part of this package, which is a great thing of course. You get a great set of stereo front-facing speakers here.
Nexus 9 is really a great piece of technology and I bet plenty of people will buy this thing all over the world, are you one of them? Do you plan to buy one or did you do it already perhaps?
