Generally speaking, smartphones seem to be slowly creeping up in size and so much so that we now all understand the rather commonly used phone/tablet hybrid term 'phablet'. However, tablets themselves do not seem to be increasing in size with the same venom or frequency. That is of course unless you are the relatively new tech company Fuhu. These guys were responsible for previously bringing us the world's first kids only tablet and now Fuhu seem to be taking big to a whole new level by launching the World's biggest tablets. There are two on offer with the smaller of the two being a whopping 20" in size while the bigger one is 24". Appropriately Fuhu have named these tablets as the nabi Big Tab HD range. So in short you can now pick up the nabi Big Tab HD 20 or nabi Big Tab HD 24. You may ask what's the point is in such a big tablet and according to Fuhu these are designed with sharing in mind. They are aimed at family or groups who want to gather around a tablet together as a social tool. As such they will come loaded with a variety of group games and apps.
We actually first heard about these devices back in August when they were officially announced. Not much has changed from what we knew then to be honest with the exception that the devices are now being released and expected to land in retail stores imminently. Need to know the specs? Well to be honest it is not like they matter so much. Let's face it, if you are in the market for a huge tab then your options are limited. Either way the nabi Big Tab HD 20 and 24 both come with obviously 20 and 24" screens respectively. The HD 20 offers a HD+ display with a 1600 x 900 resolution. In contrast the HD 24 offers Full HD with 1920 x 1080 resolution. Both devices are powered by a Quad-core Nvidia Tegra 4 processor and offer 16GB internal storage.
Wondering how much they will cost? Well the 20" is due to go on sale for $449 while the larger 24" tablet will be available for $549. So what do you think? Are you in the market for a really big tablet? Are these simply too big or do you like the idea of a sharing screen the whole family can use. Get in touch and let us know your thoughts. For those already sold on the device then keep a look out as they should be hitting retailers soon. Although to be honest they are so big you are unlikely to miss them.
