Smartphones have become a go-to tool for most of us with everything we do in a daily routine. That includes info for meetings, browsing the web, playing the occasional game,(in my case plenty of them)writing notes and setting reminders to pick up some cheese for the pizza you're making for dinner that night. While smartphones are probably one of the most useful technological tools to find their way into our hands over the last decade, sometimes they can't always be used and this where smartwatches have started to emerge and make things a little bit easier in becoming hands free, while still allowing us to do some of the things we needed to get done that we might have used our smartphones for.
Android Wear is one of the smartwatch platforms that many of us now use even though it's still in its infancy, and it's predominantly focused around quick access to all of our notifications. Citrix, has just announced today a new app for smartwatches and compatible with Android Wear called GoTo Meeting, which seeks to make it simpler to discretely join or leave a GoTo meeting session without having to grab your smartphone and initiate the task. This means you can leave your phone in your pocket, and activate everything on your wrist, allowing for less interruption of others around you as we all know that sometimes using our smartphones isn't always an acceptable thing to do.
With Citrix's GoTo Meeting app for Android Wear you'll never have to worry about disrupting anyone or the meeting itself by using your device to join the session. It also makes using the join or leave session functionality that much easier by letting users join or leave calls with on simple touch/tap instead of having to wake your device display, unlock it, open the app, and complete the task. You'll also be able to mute or un-mute calls by simply using the GoTo Meeting Android Wear app just in case you need a quick minute to take care of something and need complete silence. Do you currently use GoTo Meeting for video meeting sessions and if so, would you use find the Android Wear features of this app to be beneficial? Let us know your thoughts in the comments on our G+ post. If you want to give the app a try, you can grab the download from the Play Store link here.
