Now that IFA is a thing of the past and Nexus day has officially come and gone you may have thought that was the end of the inaugural tech launch events. Well, generally you would be right although it does seem there is one more event left for us to digest and get through. Asus were rather quiet at IFA, which was surprising as it is commonly known that they do plan to launch a couple of new Zen range products, including the ZenWatch. It doesnt take much stretch of the imagination to guess that the ZenWatch is their take on Android Wear and the smartwatch market.
It now seems Asus will be launching these products at their own special launch occurring on October 28th. This won't be the massive fanfare we have seen from the big tech companies but it more likely to be more on the quieter side. At least this is certainly if the event announcement is anything to go by as Asus did not actively promote the upcoming event and instead simply pasted a few new advert teasers on their website. Interestingly the event is going under the ominous title "Unlock the Future". Normally this type of play-on-words would immediately suggest some sort of automatic unlocking feature coming like face unlock or fingerprint id. However, Asus are not currently known to be actively working on any such feature as a main selling point. Maybe there is a new device coming? Besides the mysterious title the only other information provided by the shots is the release of what seems to be a new phone or phablet with a definite metallic body and a red edged outer rim. It is not clear if this is the new ZenFone or as mentioned a new device although it is highly expected both a ZenFone and their new ZenWatch will make an appearance. Especially as recent rumors highly suggest the ZenWatch will hit the market in November. If there is anything else then Asus will keep that a secret (or at least try to) until the actual event.
Whether or not this will be the last of the launch events before the holidays only time will tell but like always we will bring you details on any event we here that pops up. October 28th is only around the corner so either way we won't have long to wait before we see what Asus has to offer. What do you think will be launched? New ZenFone? ZenWatch? New Product? Let us know.
