Amazon Offering 500 Coins When You Stream Your First Movie Or Show With The Amazon App

A couple of weeks ago Amazon launched their overall Amazon (for everything) App. This is in basic terms is the Amazon world rolled up into a handy single little app where you can shop the abundance of products they have on offer and also stream through their Prime Instant Video Service. If you haven't tried it out yet, then now maybe a good time as Amazon are currently offering 500 when you stream your (first) movie or TV show through the app. In case you don't know about Amazon coins, each coin is worth a single cent which can be used for anything in the Amazon Appstore. So in short 500 coins is $5 to use again a game or app of your choice.

Now to qualify for this offer, there are a few caveats (as always). Firstly you need to download the main Amazon app which you can get by clicking here. Secondly you have to download the Prime Instant Video player. To do this open the app, click on the menu icon, select 'Prime Instant Video', select a video (the one you are going to watch obviously) and hit play. Once you hit the play button a prompt will pop up asking if you want to install the Prime Instant Video player. The answer is yes, you will only get the credits if you watch the video on the Prime player. Once it's installed, hit open and then of course hit the play button.

According to the T&C's, once you have started watching the movie or show your account will be credited with the 500 coins within 72 hours. At which point you can get spending on apps. A couple of extra things to note, the offer is only open until October 16th by which time you must have watched the TV show or movie to be awarded the coins. In addition, the offer is only open to US customers and don't go trying to watch more than one movie. The offer is a one-time per-household deal. Lastly, once you get your coins you have a year before they will expire so don't worry about using them. Chances are if there is nothing on the Appstore that you want right now (yeah right) then there will be within the next twelve months. Not bad as a freebie if you were planning on watching a movie anyway over the weekend. You can read the full details and T&C's by heading over to the Amazon promo page.
