You Can Pre-Order the Elephone G5 Now For $120, Starts Shipping From September 25

Elephone is a China-based company which has been extremely active lately. We've seen them announce three new phones just a few days ago, the Elephone G4, G5 and G6. All of these devices are budget smartphones, that's what Elephone is all about. Just because they're budget devices doesn't mean they're bad, not at all. The phones sport a solid build and as far as specifications go, well, you can't exactly expect high-end specs for the price these devices will sell at. G4, G5 and G6 will cost you 499, 599 and 699 Yuan respectively. These are the Chinese prices announced just a few days ago.

Let's focus on Elephone G5 considering that's the first device that will be released it seems. This device might remind you of OnePlus One and that's completely normal considering the general design seems to be inspired by the OnePlus One handset. Even the rear-facing camera resembles the OnePlus One's, so if you like the design of that device the chances are you'll like the design of Elephone G5 as well. The design is not the only thing these two devices have in common, they have the same size displays as well. Elephone G5 is sporting a lower resolution panel than OnePlus One though, 720p (1280 x 720) IPS panel to be more exact. This device is powered by MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with the Mali 400 GPU. 1GB of RAM is also a part of the package and the device comes with 8GB of in-built storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to 64GB). On the back of the device you can find a 13-megapixel camera below which is a LED flash. The camera software comes with a bunch of modes such as Auto Focus, Smile Shot, Face Beauty, Panorama, HDR, Best Shot and EV Bracket Shot. Front-facing 5-megapixel camera is also a part of this device. The usual array of sensors is also included as well as Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, Wi-Fi and GPS. The device comes with a 3,020 mAh battery and you also get Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS out of the box with Elephone's skin on top of it and you also have the option of running MIUI on it instead. This software comes with a bunch of gesture features such as double tap to wake and writing letters on the screen in order to launch certain apps.

This device will start shipping on September 25th and will be available in Black, White and Pink colors. You can get the device right now (internationally) from Giztop for $120 (source link below) though it is only available in white at the moment. There are tons of images of the device in a gallery below, so check those out if you're interested.
