Ultimate Ears Update UE BOOM Speaker With Five New Colours

Regular readers will understand that the IFA show is not just about new handsets and tablets, but also encompasses accessory makes of all different kinds. Today, Ultimate Ears have announced that they are expanding their award-winning UE BOOM Speaker lineup with five new colours "inspired by today's pop culture." These are Blue Steel (midnight blue with red accents and a grey strap), Superhero (royal blue with black accents and a red strap), Aqua (sea blue, white accents and a bright green strap), Citrus (fluorescent yellow, green accents and a white strap) and finally Orchid (lavender colour, red accents and a white strap). This brings the UE BOOM range to eleven colours plus a number of special edition colours.

The UE BOOM speaker is a Bluetooth wireless device with a range of up to fifty feet. It's NFC equipped, so if your smartphone (or tablet) also features NFC, you can benefit from one-tap pairing. The speaker has a full 360-degree sound coverage and a versatile, hard wearing tough exterior with IPX4 rating, that is, protection from water. The speaker fits into cup holders of all shapes and sizes and recharges via MicroUSB, so you can use the same charger that you bring along for your mobile. Not that you'll be needing to recharge it often as Ultimate Ears quote that the UE BOOM has up to a 15 hour battery life and can function as a speakphone if you need it to.

Unlike most Bluetooth wireless speakers, the UE BOOM has a companion app for your Android device, which allows you to update the speaker software and enables features such as Double Up. Double Up allows you to pair up two UE BOOM speakers in one of two modes. You can either use a stereo setup, designating one for the left channel and one for the right, or you can pair them up for twice the volume and punch. The speaker will also pair up with two devices simultaneously so you can take turns to play music, which is great at parties. Do you have a wireless speaker? What do you think to the new colours?
