Sony just sent an invite to our inbox for an event they are holding on October 9th in New York City. This is the day after HTC's event in NYC. So it's going to be interesting to see what they are announcing there. But judging by the hashtag they are using for the event invite, I'm going to say it's the T-Mobile Xperia Z3, which was announced earlier this month. So hopefully we'll get some nice hands on time with it. There's also reports that Sprint may also be selling the Xperia Z3 or the Xperia Z3 Compact, however nothing is confirmed on Sprint's end just yet.
Sony declined to give us more information on what exactly they are going to be announcing at this event. But that's typical with event invites like this one. We can feel free to speculate though. Earlier this month, Sony announced the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. All of which we are really excited to get our hands on. Especially after seeing the results of the battery tests for the Xperia Z3 and the Z3 Compact from Phone Arena earlier this month.
In the past, Sony has brought their phones to the US months after they've been available elsewhere in the world, only to have it available on one carrier. Which sucks. And what Sony needs to do, to really get into the US is put their phones on multiple carriers, all four carriers would be preferred. Putting your flagship on the smallest carrier in the US, is not a good idea. As much as I like T-Mobile, it's not good for Sony. How many of you are excited for the Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact or the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact? Let us know in the comments below.
