Samsung's WatchOn Plus App in Play Store for Galaxy S4 and Note 3

If you own a newer Samsung device with a built-in IR Blaster, then you probably already have Samsung's WatchON app installed, or at least in your Samsung folder ready to be loaded onto your device.  It actually works quite nicely and I have found the ability to use my Galaxy Note 3 as a remote for my TV a very handy feature - especially if the traditional remote is on the other side of the room...I just pull out my ever trusty Note 3 and adjust the TV...my how lazy we have become!  Back in the old days, there were push-buttons on the front of a TV - okay, I am old enough to remember when there was a round channel dial that you have to physically turn - but todays flat screen TVs were designed to use a remote only and they make it quite difficult to change the channel without one.

With the release of the Galaxy S5 earlier this year, Samsung updated the app to WatchOn Plus - that really improved overall appearance and user experience.  There was just one problem - you had to buy the Galaxy S5 in order to enjoy it, but that finally changed when Samsung recently introduce it to the Google Play Store for the first time.  Now, users of the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 can use the new UI by downloading the WatchOn Plus app.  It is nice to see that Samsung updated the app to work on the older model devices and did not make it a Galaxy S5 or Galaxy Note 4 exclusive.

The newer, WatchOn Plus app, offers faster and easier searches across the board and puts linear, on-demand and free web content all in one place.  It will transform your device into a universal remote and coupled with the built-in IR Blaster you can work multiple devices.  There is a place to access movie trailers, reviews, actor bios and more - you can even share what you watch with friends and family on Twitter and Facebook.  So get ready to pause, play, and then watch your favorite shows from your smartphone and even your Samsung Gear (preinstalled).

Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you use the WatchOn or WatchOn Plus app and what you think of it...as always, we would love to hear from you.
