New Nexus Hardware Being Unveiled in Mid-October, Android L hits Nov. 1st

Looks like someone opened the flood gates for the new Nexus rumors and leaks. Up until today, we’ve seen virtually nothing in terms of leaks and rumors for the new Nexus. Until today. Earlier we posted an image from O2 UK which showed their roadmap and that the Nexus 8 would be coming in November for about £459. Which is pretty pricey, but the Nexus 8 is supposed to have a NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor inside. And NVIDIA’s processors, even mobile ones, are typically more expensive.

Now, Android Authority is claiming that the next-generation Nexus hardware is going to be unveiled mid-October, with Android L being available on November 1st. Which would be a lot like what Apple does with their iPhone launches. Where they announce the new iPhone at an event on a Tuesday. Open up pre-orders that same week, and then the next week the new OS drops on Wednesday with the new iPhone on Friday. It looks like that’s similar to what Google is doing this year.

This means that we may or may not see the new Nexus devices available on Google Play the same day as they are announced. Which is what happened last year. Android 4.4 and the Nexus 5 was announced on Halloween and was available from Google Play that same day. Whatever the case may be, we’ll be looking out to see what’s going on there and keep everyone up to date with Android L and the new Nexus devices.

Anyone else as excited for new Nexus toys as I am? I’m excited to get the Nexus 6 and the Nexus 8 or 9. Can’t wait to play with them and get our reviews up shortly after. How many of you are planning to order the new Nexus on day 1? Be sure to let us know in the comments down below.
