According to CNET, it looks like Verizon and Motorola will be unveiling the next DROID for their lineup in October. Now it's important to remember here that Motorola has the exclusive on developing DROID products for Verizon. Which is why we haven't seen HTC and Samsung give it another whack after the HTC DROID Incredible and the Samsung DROID Charge. Last year, Motorola announced the DROID Maxx, DROID Maxx and DROID Ultra. Which were all like step brothers to the Moto X. As they had all the features of the Moto X, but in a 5-inch screen size (4.5 for the DROID Mini). It was also announced ahead of the Moot X which made things a bit strange last year. But now the Moto X (2014) has been announced and is up for pre-orders now. So seems like a good time for a new DROID.
We're assuming that this new smartphone from Motorola and Verizon is going to have really fast charging as the Droid Landing account on Twitter said "Faster charging is a big deal. That's why we made it a bigger deal." and we already have the Turbo charger from Motorola which is supposed to make your Moto X go from 0 to 50-percent in about 30 minutes or so. Now we haven't gotten our hands on one just yet to check it out. But it's definitely cool. And we can't wait to see what Verizon and Motorola do for the DROID Turbo. Hopefully we'll find out sooner rather than later.
I've really liked some of Motorola's latest DROID smartphones, I just really wish they weren't exclusive to Verizon. Especially the DROID Maxx, as that's an awesome phone with awesome battery life. How many of you are interested in the DROD Turbo? Let us know in the comments below.
