Motorola recently put out some promotional materials for the Moto 360, their first Android Wear smartwatch. Which show a new color on the Moto 360 and that's Gold. Because we know everyone wants a gold watch right? It doesn't look a whole lot different compared to the black and silver models that we already have (our review unit is the black one with black leather), but you can tell from looking at it straight on, that the bezels are gold. And likely the sides and bottom are as well. I'd venture to guess that we won't see it with a leather strap, but with a metal one instead.
Per Android Police, you can see the promotional images down below. The first one shows the gold one, while the second one shows that they removed it but didn't change the line up of the other four, while the third one does show a change. So it's obvious that Motorola was working quickly to take down that gold Moto 360. Android Police also reached out to Motorola for comment on the matter and here was their response:
"Although we can't comment on gold specifically, we're always exploring new materials and we intend to provide Moto 360 in a selection of styles in the future."
So Gold is all but confirmed. Unless something happens in the R&D labs, we'll be seeing a gold Moto 360 soon. Usually when a company leaks something out like that, it's coming. Now that doesn't mean it's coming out right now, but in the near future. One has to wonder how much more the gold version would cost, as the leather versions are $249 and the metal straps are $299. Maybe the gold is $349? Well we'll have to wait and see, unfortunately.
