Google And HTC To Launch A Keyboard Folio Case For The Upcoming Nexus Tablet

When it comes to the Nexus devices, one thing they have particularly never been known for is their large selection of Nexus accessories and the speedy time frame at which they become available. That's OK mostly with plenty individuals as they will simply just find accessories elsewhere. For some though part of the experience is having the ability to grab one of the official Nexus cases for example, especially after they're brought to our attention by Google and leave us wanting. It appears that Google may be looking to change the way they approach accessories to the Nexus lineup, at least with the HTC Nexus tablet thought to be getting a release later on this Fall.

According to upleaks, there would be upcoming smart cover and keyboard folio cases for the HTC tablet to come, and it looks like that could be spot on. Android Police has gotten a hold of some images that look like drawings of the folio case, which display the bottom portion of the case that would fit snugly on the back and around the edges of the tablet housing a keyboard, while the topside would be provide the screen some minimal protection when flipped over to cover it up. We can also see that it looks like Google and HTC are accounting for the microUSB charging port being covered up, and if the case comes out looking like these drawings then users would still be able to utilize those functions due to the microUSB port located in the spine of the folio case.

The case should support Bluetooth 4.0 and rumors state that the case could also house a battery inside, not unlike what we have seen from ASUS with their Transformer tablet keyboard dock. The battery for this keyboard case however is potentially fairly low capacity(maybe 450 mAh)intended most likely to give the tablet just a tiny bit of power while in use. The design also looks like the case will have an LED indicator on the opposite end of the microUSB. While the end result may end up looking slightly different(or it could end up looking exactly like this)we're apparently looking at a fairly slim case at that, so we shouldn't expect it to bulk up the tablet too much.
