We've seen many Chinese companies pushing their products to the smartphone market this year. From those well-known ones like Xiaomi, Meizu and Huawei, for example, to the less known ones like Elephone and Gionee. It would take a long time to compile a list of all Chinese smartphone manufacturers that are are roaming around my head, let alone the list of all the ones who announced something this year. Doogee is yet another one smartphone manufacturer from China who is trying to differentiate and attract customers with their smartphone offerings.
Not many people outside of China have heard of Doogee brand and yet this company has made over 20 smartphone to date. Earlier this month they introduced their best specced device yet, DooGee DG900. This device comes with a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable via MicroSD card up to 64GB. DooGee DG900 is powered by MediaTek's MT6592, a "true" octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz. This is the very same chip you can find in Meizu MX4 for example and it becoming more popular with smartphone manufacturers. Along with this SoC you get a Mali-450 GPU for graphics processing and the phone comes with 2600mAh battery. 16-megapixel camera with Sony's IMX 135 sensor (5 lenses on top of each other) can be found at the back of this device while there's a 8-megapixel camera on the front of the device. The device comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box although there's DooGee's skin on top of it, of course. This is not an LTE device though it has dual SIM support for those of you who crave that. You can even double tap the back of the phone to take selfies, if that's your thing. The usual array of sensors are, of course, also a part of this package and the device is only 6.9mm thick.
The manufacturer said the device will be available in October while they haven't even said how much will it cost. GearBest, on the other hand, did, considering they're selling Doogee DG 900 already. Regular price of this device at GearBest is $529,45 and you can get it now for 58% off, which means the device will cost you only $222,13 which includes shipping. This is rather low considering the specs this device packs.
