Android OTA: Device Updates & Firmware Report - September 12th Edition

AT&T Update the G Flex While T-Mobile Give the G3 a Small Update

Two of LG's devices are getting updates on GSM carriers today, with the G Flex getting updated to D95020f on AT&T which brings some security patches downstream as well as compatibility fixes for the G Watch and that's about it really. Meanwhile over on T-Mobile, the G3 is being updated to software build D85110m which, despite its 154MB size, doesn't seem to do much of anything. So, it's pretty safe to assume that this is just bugfixes. Sadly, both the G Flex and the G3 are still on Android 4.4.2 until LG deem 4.4.4 ready to rollout.

Sprint's Galaxy Note 3 and T-Mobile's Galaxy S4 Get Android 4.4.4 Update

Samsung's big hitters from 2013 are getting the update to Android 4.4.4 this week, with Sprint rolling out the N900PVPUCNH7 software build which also brings International WiFi Calling and the usual bug fixes. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S4 is getting a larger update to Android 4.4.4 on T-Mobile, with the software build of M919UVUFNH7 coming in at 404MB.l However, this is just a point release, so don't get too excited, but bugs should be quashed and things should be a little tighter afterwards.

Verizon's LG G2 Gets Small Update to Ready it for VoLTE Launch

Over on Verizon, LG's G2 is getting updated to software build VS98025B, which brings with it support for Advanced Calling 1.0, which is the fancier name for VoLTE, or Voive over LTE. The update also comes with a variety of updates as well, including a whole host of incremental software update and a good helping of bugfixes as well.

Sony Updates the Xperia Z, ZR, ZL, the Tablet Z and the Xperia T2 Ultra to Android 4.4.4

Rocking an original Sony Xperia Z device? Then you'll be getting the update to Android 4.4.4 any time now, with Sony rolling out the 10.5.1.A.0.283 or something similar, to pretty much every Xperia Z device ever made. As you might expect, these updates are full of small updates as well as more agreeable changes to Sony's offerings like bugfixes galore and some tightening of bolts here and there. Coming along for the ride is the more recently announced Xperia T2 Ultra is getting Android 4.4.4 as well thanks to the 19.1.1.A.0.165 update.

Verizon's Galaxy S5 Gets Android 4.4.4, While the DROID RAZR HD, MAXX HD and RAZR M Get Small Update

Verizon Galaxy S5 users should have gotten the update to Android 4.4.4 this past week, which comes in at 346MB and yet only apparently fixes a Bluetooth media bug, so have fun guys. Meanwhile, the DROID RAZR HD and its MAXX cousin are getting small updates to software version 182.46.15, which apparently improves the overall security of the device and updates some apps here and there, and the same update is heading out to RAZR M devices as well.

Boost is Giving the Moto G Android 4.4.4 while Rogers Does the Same for the Moto X

For those on Boost in Canada, you're finally getting the Android 4.4.4 update, which changes the look of the phone dialer and brings with it some Motorola fixes. Elsewhere in Canada, Rogers is doing the same to the Moto X, with similar bugfixes and changes there as well.
