YouTube has made an announcement on their blog in regards to YouTube on TV. With so many different ways to use YouTube on your television such as a gaming console or Roku, more and more people are using YouTube on their television. Those users are about to see a new UI layout for YouTube very soon, with some users seeing the new UI as soon as today.
Like many updates from Google, the timeline for all devices that allow for YouTube on TV is in the coming weeks. However, Xbox One users will see the update starting today according to the blog post by YouTube. "The channels you subscribe to and videos you care about will be a click away with a guide on the left side that's just like the guide you see on YouTube on your computer, phone, and tablet. When you sign in, you can jump to all the latest videos from your subscriptions and recommendations in the What to Watch section, or pop on a playlist you've liked such as Blogilates' Cardio AB Attack and turn your TV into a workout buddy." YouTube claims that the new UI will make things a lot easier to get to, or find. The new UI will also make finding and playing playlists created by your favorite creators easier. "With new channel pages, you'll be able to see everything [your favorite creators] curated for you, helping you find even more to watch from your favorite creators."
In the blog post, YouTube added a nice little video to show off the new UI, that way if you haven't received the update yet you can see what you're in for. You'll notice that the new UI is just a supersized version of what we're used to on our other devices. If you own and are using YouTube on your Xbox One, let us know what you think. Have you used the new UI yet, if so, do you find it easier to use than before? Are there any changes you'd make to the new UI or has YouTube given you exactly what you're looking for?
