Virgin Mobile Custom: No Contract, Sprint Network, Exclusively at Walmart

Everybody loves a discount, especially when it comes to our monthly wireless bill - most people feel they are paying excessively for their monthly service.  Some people go the prepaid route rather than the typical postpaid with a two-year contract.  Virgin Mobile USA has already stood for value in the prepaid world of cellphones and they just announced they are launching Virgin Mobile Custom - a fully customizable cell phone plan with, complete with parental controls exclusively at 1,800 Walmart stores.

Just in time for back-to-school, when we are all looking for a good value, the Virgin Mobile Custom plans offer: No annual contract - parental controls - and the ability to personally build and customize a tailored rate plan.  No one plan is the same because you get to select only the options that you want - a wide range of calling, text and data options.  Dow Draper, president-Sprint Prepaid Group says that, "Custom represents both our first multi-line plan and a new model for buying no-contract wireless that gives consumers greater choice and control than ever before.  Our customers will have a whole new level of spending management, plan customization, and parental control.  They can tailor what they pay for to match their own and their family's needs."

"The Custom experience offers parents a great value as well a comprehensive set of remote controls that allow them to manage their child's phone use by limiting when kids have access to different features, apps and websites.  Best of all, parents stuck in a contract with other carriers can take advantage of this dynamic program by simply downloading the free iOS or Android app to any smartphone to manage the Custom handsets."

Customers have the ability to activate up to five lines for as little as $6.98 per line per month.  The customers purchases his phone directly from Walmart - the LG Pulse for $99.99, the LG Unify for $129.99 or the ZTE Emblem for $79.99 - and then activates it with the Base plan, which gives you 20 texts and 20 voice minutes per month, add options or go to the Unlimited plan for $35 per month per line with unlimited talk, text and data.  To show how much customization there is, a customer can activate only unlimited texting for $10 a month or only unlimited talk for only $18.  The customer can also choose from the "add-ons," shown below - for instance, Facebook, Pandora, or maybe you would want 30 minutes of international calling.  The "add-ons" do not deduct any time or data from your original plan - the price for the "add-on" is all inclusive.

The options can be adjusted anytime during the month, even on a daily basis, from each individual device, but controlled only by the primary user.  Pricing can be displayed in real-time giving the customer the ability to see exactly how much their monthly bill will be, before they confirm any changes.  This plan offers parents unique flexibility in controlling what their children can and cannot do on their individual device, but does allow them to add features as they see fit.  The parents can even set 'curfews' as to when they can access features - no Facebook during school, or no texting after certain hours - like a built-in babysitter.

Please hook up with us on our Google+ Page and let us know if this new plan sounds like something that you could use around your always, we would love to hear from you.
