No Kit Kat Love For The Sony Xperia T, TX, Or V; Jelly Bean 4.3 Is The Last Stop

When Google announced they were releasing Kitkat, it left a lot of people wondering when they would get to taste the delicious new treat. Of course Nexus users knew from the start that they would receive the update. Unfortunately, people with other phones had to wait on their OEM's to send out the newer version of the software. An example of such phones are the Xperia T, TX, and V. It's been quite a while since since Kitkat has been released and there has been many devices that have not received the update except for recent or newly released devices. People kept a lot of hope that their device would scoop up the newest Android build, but as of today we have learned that the Xperia T, TX, and V will not receive Kitkat.

Since these three device will not move on up to Kitkat, they will stay with Jellybean. On Sony's site, for each phone they keep  track of the device's Android versions with a chart. According to the chart, all three of these device launched with Ice Cream sandwich, which really shows the age of these handsets. Next to the Ice Cream Sandwich release is the beloved Jelly Bean release. Now, next to the Jelly bean release, the chart used to show "Under Investigation Android 4.4 (KitKat)," but now has Jelly bean 4.3 as the last and final version. It's pretty depressing to find out that these handsets won't be able to experience the goodness of Kitkat officially, but times are changing and newer phones are releasing. There's also the possibility of custom ROMs that are based off of the Kit Kat firmware

The Xperia T, TX, and V were released back in 2012 with Ice Cream Sandwich installed. They have been around for a while so the hardware is probably a bit outdated. They were also not flagship devices, just side handsets for people looking for a good price. With these smartphones not getting updated with Kitkat, it won't be too much of a big deal to some since they are far back in the mobile tech world. If you are an owner of one of these three handsets, don't let this bring you down. A new phone will come your way and sweep you off your feet so fast that'll you'll forget about that old phone and fall in love with a new one.
