RUMOR: Samsung's Unpacked Episode 2 To Hold Unveiling For Another Wearable

Unpacked 2014 Episode 2 event invitations went out merely yesterday evening, with a less than subtle message to "note the date", so we know that there will be some significant time carved out for the upcoming Galaxy Note 4 device that plenty of people have been waiting on. A new rumor suggests that we may see a new wearable get an official unveiling from Samsung as well, although it isn't yet known what that might be. Samsung already has the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, Gear Fit, and the Gear Live that have all been launched this year, and there was talk of other wearables that were rumored to be in the pipeline for a 2014 release as well, like the Gear Solo smartwatch that is data connected independent of the smartphone and make calls on its own. There hasn't been a whole lot of talk about that recently but it was said to have a possible summer  launch time and with summer almost come and gone, Unpacked seems like a good place to show it off to the world.

Technically we could consider the Gear VR a wearable, and there have been rumors that Samsung's ambitious gaming focused virtual reality headset would come alongside the Galaxy Note 4, which we can pretty much guess will be at the event given the time of Unpacked Ep 2 and the nature of their message on the invitation. Taking that into consideration it seems reasonable to suspect the Gear VR could be a likely candidate for this wearable, although nothing is confirmed and this is just our speculation.

We don't have much on confirmation, just that the source is apparently in the know about what will be there but isn't at liberty to say what(obviously) and they mentioned that it would "be busy in Berlin". Come September we'll see just how busy, and who knows perhaps Samsung could be prepared to show off the Note 4, the Gear VR, and another Gear smartwatch for a total of three product unveilings. Unpacked 2014 Episode 2 takes place in Berlin on Wednesday September 3rd, which is only a few weeks away so we'll know soon what Samsung has in store as "The Next Big Thing."
