Pre-Selected T-Mobile Customers to get Special Deals on Upgrades Beginning Tomorrow

T-Mobile actually does this quite a bit, in an effort to get people to upgrade to newer devices and probably to newer plans. They have a pretty nice sale on some older devices - mostly because they will be cheaper and make it more likely for people to upgrade - and their Summer Savings Upgrade Offer begins tomorrow, for those that have been pre-selected. According to TmoNews source, about 1.5 million people will be contacted and be offered "up to $92 in savings" on select smartphones.

If you are one of the 1.5 million current customers that will be contacted for this promotion you will get to choose between 5 different smartphones, for $0 down. these are the  Samsung Galaxy Light for $48, LG L90 for $48, Galaxy Avant for $120, Galaxy S4 for $300 or Galaxy S2 for $288. Monthly costs range from $2 to $12.50 on EIP with $0 down. According to TmoNews the internal memo sent out to T-Mobile employees reads:

"We want to show our loyal customers we appreciate them and ensure they're taking advantage of our smartphone line up, so we're launching the Summer Savings Upgrade Offer on August 6! We have pre-selected 1.5 million existing customers, who will be eligible for up to a $92 savings when they upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy Avant, Galaxy S 4, Galaxy S 2, Galaxy Light and LG L90 devices. Existing customers were pre-selected if they were on a Simple Choice plan, with $0 in Equipment Installment Plans (EIP) and had at least 12 months tenure."

It's a good plan to get more people using smartphones and to sell more smartphones. It's also good for getting those older customers into smartphones and upgrading their plans as well. Since you do need to change over to a Simple Choice plan to take advantage of this sale. How many of you have already gotten a call about this savings event from T-Mobile?
