Although we still don't know any official dates or prices for the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, the fabled metal body Galaxy device that everyone has been waiting for, we may be getting our first look at those unreleased specs and prices for the device to be that is rumored to be released sometime this year. Thanks to this image leak below from a site called Techmundo, we now have an idea of what to expect in this device. According to the rumors that we have heard about the Alpha so far, it would be sporting some lower end specs when compared to Samsung's flagship from this year, the Galaxy S5. The leaked image of the Alpha seems to support what we've heard, showing that the phone would be coming with a 4.7-inch AMOLED display with 720p resolution, a 12MP rear facing camera and what looks to be a 2.3MP front facing camera for video chat and selfies.
The device also seems to support Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS, and LTE network connectivity, along with what appears to be an octa core processor made up of two quad core CPUs, with the first core clocked at 1.8GHz and the second core clocked at 1.3GHz. We can also see that this graphic of the Alpha's spec sheet shows it will carry 2GB of RAM, what looks like 32GB of internal storage but no expandable storage options through the insertion of a microSD card should you need more space for stuff, which is really odd considering every other device they manufacture usually has one.
The galaxy Alpha is listed here as having what looks like an 1,860 mAh battery on board, but it also says TBD(to be determined) next to it which tells us that Samsung isn't settled on what is listed and may give it a larger or smaller battery in the final production ready release of the phone. The Galaxy Alpha is listed as having a nano SIM, and will be running Android 4.4 Kit Kat which was to be expected. It also appears that Samsung will be giving the Galaxy Alpha the fingerprint reader and the Heart Rate Sensor that we see on the Galaxy S5, so if you're looking forward to this device and want to use it to help stay active, you might be getting your wish. According to the source, the Galaxy Alpha will be sold for R$2,399, although that is quite a bit when converted to USD so take the price with a grain of salt. We will probably see this phone release in the next couple of months, or so it's believed, so stay tuned until then.
