MyGlass App Is Now Officially Available Through The Play Store For Non-U.S. Residents

Google continues to make forward strides with Google Glass, this time through the availability of the MyGlass app that was previously only available to U.S residents when attempting to download it from the Play Store. Although updates to the actual Glass software are nice and they are much appreciated by the Glass community especially when they improve things or add in new features, little things like this(which could actually be looked at as a major improvement)make for a more enjoyable experience for those who are involved. In this case, we're referring to the Glass Explorers.

Google has officially made the MyGlass app available for download to anyone, regardless of region locale through the Play Store. This means you don't have to grab the apk file from outside the Play Store if you don't reside in the U.S., which leaves no room for potential apk tampering since it isn't coming from a third party location, and users who can now download the MyGlass app that couldn't prior to now also have the benefits of auto updates through the Play Store whenever Google updates the app. That will save Explorers time of having to consistently track down the latest apk file and download it after an update goes through, which might only be a few minutes but for some, taking the time to find the latest apk file when pushed to users officially is both less safe and could take a good portion of their precious time.

If you're a Glass Explorer from a non-U.S. region this should delight you for those reasons listed above, however if you still like the option of having access to the apk files for MyGlass you can always grab them whenever you need thanks to the team at Google Glass Geeks who is still hosting the apk files for anyone who wants them. That includes older files as well as the most up to date. Plenty of users may have already been aware of this fact, but we're sure that someone somewhere, or groups of people in various places have yet to realize that the Play Store now officially allows downloads of My Glass for anyone, anywhere.
