10. HP Chromebook 11
The HP Chromebook 11 is kind of like the Nexus of Chromebooks. So why is it so low on our list? Simple. It’s just not that great. The biggest reason is because it’s running the Exynos 5250 dual-core processor. This is the same processor we have in the Samsung Series 3 Chromebook and the Nexus 10. This was the first ARM chip used in a Chromebook, and it’s not as good as it could have been. It also features 2GB of RAM, 16GB of SSD storage, and 6 hours of battery life. We’ve also got a webcam on the front, 2 USB 2.0 ports, and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n. Right now it’s going for about $199 on Amazon, making it the cheapest Chromebook available.
9. ASUS C200
This is ASUS’ first real Chromebook. This is their 11-inch version and is currently the same price as their 13-inch version, which is why it’s lower on the list. We’ve got a 11.6-inch 1366×768 resolution display here, a Intel BayTrail-M N2830 2.16 GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of SSD storage, 1.2MP webcam, 1 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0, HDMI, SD card slot(SDXC), and Bluetooth 4.0. Right now, it’s selling for $227 from Amazon.
8. Chromebook Pixel
This is a beast of a Chromebook here, but it’ll also put a huge dent in your wallet. Still the only Chromebook with a 2560×1600 resolution touchscreen, also the only one with an Intel Core i5 inside. The Chromebook Pixel is over a year old and is still over a grand. It’s a great piece of hardware and runs Chrome OS really well, but it may be a bit difficult to sell a $1200 Chromebook. There’s also 4GB of RAM, 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI port and a webcam.
7. ASUS C300
This is the big brother to the ASUS C200 Chromebook. This is the 13.3-inch version. All the specs are the same aside from the screen size. But we do still have a 1366×768 resolution display here. The ASUS C300 has a brushed aluminum look to it as well, which looks amazing, I might add. It’s also going for about $229 right now on Amazon, making it a pretty sweet deal.
6. Acer C720/C720p
The Acer C720 is one of my favorite Chromebooks. It’s fast, lightweight and pretty darn cheap as well. The C720 features an 11.6-inch 1366×768 resolution display, Intel Celeron 2955U 1.4 GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of SSD storage, and about 8.5 hours of battery life thanks to Haswell. The C720p has identical specs, except for the touchscreen.
5. Lenovo N20p
Here we have Lenovo’s first Chromebook that’s available to everyone. They had one earlier on that was just for education customers, but this one is for everyone. This one has an 11.6-inch 1366×768 resolution display, Intel Celeron N2830 Dual Core Processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of SSD Storage, and an assortment of HDMI, USB ports and a webcam around front.
4. HP Chromebook 14
This is the largest Chromebook available right now. As most of them are 11.6-inches, this one is a 14-incher as hinted at in the name. It’s powered by the Intel Celeron 2955U 1.4 GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of SSD Storage, a 14-inch 1366×768 resolution display, and Intel HD Graphics. We’ve also got a webcam around front, 3 USB ports, HDMI Port, and a SDXC card slot. Right now the Chromebook 14 is going for $300.
3. Acer C720 (Intel Core i3 model)
Earlier this year, Acer announced a new version of their popular C720 model. This one has the Intel Core i3-4005U 1.7 GHz processor inside. Which is obviously much more powerful than the Intel Celeron 2955U processor in most of these other Chromebooks. We’re also looking at 2GB of RAM, 32GB of SSD storage and a 11.6-inch 1366×768 resolution display.
2. Samsung Chromebook 2
Here we have Samsung’s second ARM-based Chromebook. Which explains the name. We’ve got a 13.3-inch 1920×1080 resolution display here, powered by a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5800 2.0 GHz Processor, 4GB of RAM, 16GB of SSD storage and about 8.5 hours of battery life. There’s also the faux leather backing which looks really nice.
1. Acer CB5
This is Acer’s first Chromebook not powered by Intel. It’s powered by the NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, and available in both 1366×768 and 1920×1080 resolutions. The 1366×768 is said to get 13 hours of battery life and the 1920×1080 model will get about 11 hours. It’s a pretty powerful Chromebook starting at $279. Currently they are up for Pre-Order through Amazon and Best Buy.
