One of the commercials that my parents used to love when I was growing up was that OfficeMax commercial where they sing “its the most wonderful time of the year..THEY’RE GOING BACK!!” and yes, it’s that time of year. Time for students all around the world to head back to school. Whether it be high school, middle school, elementary school or college, it’s time for Back to school shopping. So we’ve put together this comprehensive list of Back-To-School items that you’ll probably want to pick up for the 2014-15 school year. We’ve got a few backpacks, a speaker, some smartphones and tablets, of course.
Booq Boa Nerve Messenger Bag
Booq is a company that makes very rugged and sturdy backpacks. I’ve had one of theirs for a couple of years now (along with a Swiss Gear one) and it still looks brand new. It’s made of Ballistic nylon exterior with water-repellent coating. Intelligent interior layout optimized for laptop accessories. Seatbelt nylon shoulder strap with magnetic quick release. Reflective trim and webbing throughout. Extremely durable water-resistant rubberized bottom
SwissGear Travel Gear ScanSmart Backpack 1900
SwissGear is also another brand that makes top notch backpacks. I’ve been using a SwissGear backpack for a few years now and have had no complaints. It can carry my laptop, a ton of books, as well as my tablet, a battery pack and a few other goodies. So it’s definitely going to pull it’s weight. There’s even a little pouch on the side where you can keep a water bottle.
Timbuk2 Command Laptop TSA-Friendly Messenger Bag
Timbuk2 is actually a company that I haven’t had the pleasure of using any of their messenger or other bags yet. But I have heard great things about their stuff. Durable oxford nylon fabric feels smooth and has a subtle sheen. Waterproof TPU liner. Classic Messenger fit. Improved TSA compliant external laptop compartment unzips and lies flat for going through security without removing your laptop. Crater laptop sleeve: superior foam protection with twice the ventilation.

JBL Micro II Ultra-Portable Multimedia Speaker

HTC One (M8)
Well if you buy one of these you probably won’t need the JBL Micro II speaker. The HTC One M8 has a 5-inch 1080p display with Boomsound speakers on the Front. There’s also a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor inside, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 2600mAh battery inside. It’s running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Sense 6.0.
Samsung Galaxy S5
“The Next Big Thing” according to Samsung, and it would be great to get one of these for the school year. Complete with a 5.1-inch 1920×1080 resolution Super AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 2800mAh battery. Like the HTC One M8, it’s also running on Android 4.4.2, and has Samsung’s Touchwiz UI inside.
This is by far one of my favorite phones, although I may be biased since it is my daily driver. The LG G3 features a 5.5-inch 2560×1440 resolution display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 3000mAh battery inside. It’s the newest flagship on the block and it’s a great one.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S is by far one of the best tablets of the year. It has an amazing 2560×1440 resolution Super AMOLED display, along with a Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It’s available in both 10.5 and 8.4 inches, as well as black and white, with gold trim on both.
NVIDIA Shield Tablet
Shhh. You can play games during school. At least that’s what NVIDIA wants you to think with their $299 Shield Tablet. It’s powered by their Tegra K1 processor, along with a 8-inch 1920×1200 resolution display and 2GB of RAM. It’s simply a beast.
