Android App Updates Aug 29, 2014: OneDrive, Secret, Nova, and More


Microsoft OneDrive gets updated

This week, Microsoft updated it's OneDrive to version 2.7.0, which brought along a nice changelog. Changes include; Pin code lock. OneDrive for Business support. Sign in with both your personal OneDrive and your OneDrive for Business accounts. Organize and open your OneDrive for Business files. Save new files to your OneDrive for Business account. Updates to camera backup. Open OneDrive files with the storage access framework.

Nova Launcher Brings Beta 2 to stable

Nova Launcher 3.1 Transition


Just a few days ago, Nova Launcher's latest beta brought all kinds of new goodies. And now it's available to everyone. Let's look at the changelog: Drawer transitions (Circle reveal, slide up, zoom, fade). Settings – Drawer – Transition Animation. Circle reveal not compatible with all devices. App Drawer Search, shows recently installed and updated apps without search query Fix inability to manually changing app drawer icon.

AllCast Gets Huge Update


AllCast is getting a huge update as well this week. All kinds of fixes and such here. Here's the changelog: Chromecast detection fixes. Better proxy server for primitive receivers (Roku, DLNA). Subtitles on Chromecast fixes (still need to fix UTF-8 next release). Remove 10 minute viewing limit on Chromecast in favor of a watermark. Better looking ad units. Add Crashalytics for better crash analysis. New HTTP Engine (supports ion+spdy). Better grid/list UX. Soon to be a toggleable action bar option.


ESPN College Football gets renamed and Updated

College football gets underway this week, and I'll be watching Michigan tomorrow afternoon. So ESPN updated their College Football app and renamed it "Championship Drive". It also got a bunch of new features for the 2014 year. Brand new enhanced design. Scores tab with separate section for quick access to scores from your favorite teams. Champ Drive tab with editorially curated top stories, as well as an all-video section. Rankings tab includes information about how the new Playoff Committee rankings work. Play tab with quick access to College Football fantasy games. New game pages with instant video highlights (coming soon).

Secret Updated on Google Play



Secret also saw an update this week. The changelog includes: Turn any secret into a Yes or No question and see responses from your friends. Add beautiful backgrounds from Flickr to your secrets. Improved measures for your safety. Bug fixes and substantial performance improvements.
