Sony has been doing a 6-month release cycle for their flagship devices, which is why we are about to see their fourth flagship in two years. The Xperia Z, Z1, Z2 and now Z3. We're beginning to see leaks of the Xperia Z3 pop out now. So far we don't know much about the specs, but we're expecting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor inside, 3GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, a Quad HD display, and a pretty sizeable battery. And we should be seeing it at IFA in September. However, these pictures show it is running Android 4.4.4 KitKat as build 23.0.G.0.98, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, it's also going to have the same 20.7MP camera as the Xperia Z1 and Z2. But it's important to remember that these things can change before the final release, and can easily be faked, as we've seen in the past.
The design language does look a lot like the Xperia Z2, which isn't really a huge surprise. As Sony has had the same design for their devices for, what seems like, ever. It looks like we still have the all glass construction although these pictures aren't the best quality, unfortunately. This is the Chinese version with the model number L55t. I wouldn't be surprised to see it launched at IFA in September and then made available in the US in 2015. As Sony is typically pretty slow at bringing their own devices over into the US, even for sale unlocked. Although we'll cross our fingers and hope they can get the Xperia Z3 here sooner than that.
Sony builds some amazing devices, and the Xperia Z3 is going to be no different. How many of you are excited to get your hands on the Sony Xperia Z3 later on this year? Let us know in the comments down below.
