Paranoid Android 4.5 Alpha Surfaces With Improved Recents Design

Last week, the team at Paranoid Android released the first preview of their latest 4.5 series that mainly focused on the recent apps redesign. Now that the week has passed, Paranoid Android has released the second preview to their 4.5 release which is a huge improvement to last weeks preview. Just by taking a look, you can see the similarities that Paranoid Android and Android L have with their recents redesign. Instead of the simple large thumbnails that scrolled either up or down, the newly introduced recents has more of a sorted file look. The direction that Paranoid took is the same that Google has already done with the Android software. So whether or not this assorted file representation appeals to you, the style won't be going anywhere. The overall redesign looks nice and gives the users of this ROM something new to play with.

So whats new with this second beta other than just telling you it has undergone major improvements? Well for starters, visuals such as the reworkings of the zoom animations and smoother scrolling have been added. The recents have also been given a transparent background for your wallpaper to make its way on through. The Dev team has also added more visible shadows that still isn't finished in this release along with some small clean up. Other fixes are patches and squashed bugs in the theme engine upstream that have been recently merged together. Issues with the transparent navigation bar have also been fixed. Last but not least, users can hide the battery in the status bar if they wish to by going to the battery style settings.

As of right now, this is the second beta preview from Paranoid Android that particularly only focuses on the redesign of the recents tab on your device. The second beta for Paranoid Android will be sent out OTA or if you don't want to wait, you can download the software directly from their Page.
