International Galaxy Note 3 Gets Kids Mode, Download Booster in Latest Update

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 3.7

As Samsung often does, they've given the Galaxy Note 3 some of the new features that the Galaxy S5 has been enjoying for some time now. An update rolling out to the International Version of the Galaxy Note 3 which is the SM-N9005 to those concerned brings Kids Mode and the Download Booster as well. The software build you're looking for is N9005XXUFNF4 and it comes in at 185MB in size. It's been spotted in the UK and most recently Russia. Download Booster allows your WiFi network to work with your cell network to gain faster speeds and well, Kids Mode is, a mode for kids.

LG G2 Finally Gets Knock Code on T-Mobile

Say what you want about T-Mobile, they do tend to drag behind a little bit when it comes updates. The G2 however, is finally getting Knock Code that was introduced with the G Pro 2 and hit other carrier variants earlier in the year. The update carries build number D80120e and shouldn't be too big a download at all, but it does also bring bug fixes and improvements for other included apps.

ASUS Update Fonepad 7 and Padfone 2 to Android 4.4 KitKat

The Padfone 2 has been out for quite a while now, but that doesn't mean ASUS has forgotten about it and has updated it to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The software update is fairly large and it's best you download it from their website, which allows you to choose which SKU of the Padfone 2 you have, for different regions. This update comes with a pretty big caveat, your user data will be wiped. So be sure to back up your photos and such before going through with the update. We'd say that the update was well worth it though. Meanwhile, the original Fonepad 7 is getting update to KitKat as well, the model number receiving said update is ME372CG and it's been spotted rolling out in Europe as well as Asia.

Android 4.4.4 Rolling Out to Google Play Editions of the HTC One M7 and M8

HTC-One-M8 (77)

Android 4.4.4 might seem like a Nexus-only type of update, but it's making its way to Google Play Edition devices as well and now, it's HTC's turn. Both the M7 and M8 versions of the HTC One GPE are getting the update and while it's nothing too major, it brings some stability fixes here and there as well security enhancements.

Both LG's G Watch and Samsung's Gear Live Get Updated to KMV78V

AH Android Wear

Android Wear is upon us and while many of the watches are still making their way to customers, the Play Store has opened its doors up to the new apps and the Android Wear application itself is now available. Today, both the G Watch and Gear Live got updated to the latest build of 4.4W, with a build number of KMV78V. It looks like this is a bug release aimed at the Gear Live and issues with the display as there doesn't seem to be any noticeable differences on my G Watch, but I'll keep a look out for anything new.

Former Editor-in-Chief

For years now I've had a heavy interest in technology, growing up with 8-bit computers and gaming consoles has fed into an addiction to everything that beeps. Android saved me from the boredom of iOS years ago and I love watching the platform grow. As an avid reader and writer nothing pleases me more than to write about the exciting world of Android, Google and mobile technology as a whole.
