Sponsored App Review: Live Football World Cup 2014

Description: Live Football World Cup 2014 is an Android application designed to help you get the most out of this year's World Cup. It keeps you up-to-date with all the latest info about the match schedules, groups, points table and all the latest news during the World Cup. But the most exceptional feature that no other Android Application is providing is that the Live Football World Cup 2014 gives a list of official Broadcasters for each and every match so that you may watch the World Cup Matches live over the Internet, no matter where you are. It's a great app for those that might not be at home to watch the game, or just don't have the right cable subscription. For all things World Cup, this sounds like a good option,

How it Works: To get started with Live Football World Cup 2014, you'll need to download the app from the Play Store. Once you've done that, the app will ask you for your email address. We're not sure why, presumably for email updates.

After that, you'll be greeted with the main menu, where you can take a look at the groups, schedules, points table, favorite teams and watch live games.

The group tab will show you which teams are competing with one another in the group stage along with their current FIFA ranking.

You can choose to follow teams (Up to 5) as favorites; you can get team facts regarding previous world cup and quickly look up their progress and get live news feed on the "Your Team" menu at the bottom of the display.

The match schedule is given in three formats i.e. Date wise, Team wise and Group wise, so that you can sort according to your preference and tune in with the app to catch your team in live action.

Another exciting feature is the Predict and win contest, where you can win prizes including PS4, Xbox, iPads and many more by just making correct predictions about the winner of different matches.

Opinion: While I'm not a massive Football – sorry, soccer – fan, I've always been interested in the World Cup and seeing national teams go against each other regardless of money, leagues or whatever. I'll be tuning in to a lot of the games, but some of them I imagine won't be included in my cable package, which is where the ability to watch them live through Live Football World Cup 2014 is going to come in handy. So too, will the favorite system, allowing you to track up to five favorite teams and see their latest results and their standing in the competition as a whole.

  • Speed (4/5) – Live Football World Cup 2014 runs well on smartphones and tablets and there's very little waiting around you'll have to do with this. How quickly the live feeds load however, depends on your connection.
  • Features (4/5) – A good offering to Football fans all over the world, this has all the right boxes ticked and will even let you watch games live once the competition kicks off.
  • Theme (4/5) – It could look better on tablets, but the overall look and feel is nothing to complain about, but we're assuming the picture quality of the feeds will vary.
  • Overall (4/5) – A solid Football app tailored to the World Cup, this cuts out all of the added noise from other apps and gives you access to what you want, when you want it, including live video feeds of the games.

  • Offers fans without pricey cable subscriptions a chance to catch their favorite teams live.
  • Great for catching up on news and group standings.
  • You can choose five favorite teams and get quick updates on their progress and scores.
  • Just deals with the World Cup, giving fans quick access to the information that they want.

  • There are some design and space variations on different devices.
  • I am not sure about the live feeds, as things could change as the World Cup goes on.

Conclusion: If you're looking for an app to give you news on your favorite teams as well as a quick way of getting access to live feeds, Live Football World Cup 2014 is a great app to keep on your device for the course of the tournament. Following your favorite teams is a nice touch and getting information on the latest scores and standing is simple, straightforward and quick. It's free to download and will offer you quick reference as you cheer on your home nation, or perhaps back a different horse.

For years now I've had a heavy interest in technology, growing up with 8-bit computers and gaming consoles has fed into an addiction to everything that beeps. Android saved me from the boredom of iOS years ago and I love watching the platform grow. As an avid reader and writer nothing pleases me more than to write about the exciting world of Android, Google and mobile technology as a whole.
