Last month, Final Fantasy Agito made its way into the Japanese Play Store, causing RPG fans and Final Fantasy fans here in the West to wonder when, or if, we were going to see the game localized for release in English. With E3 going on right now, gamers have enough to keep track of, but some more good news is that Agito will be coming to North America soon, as Square Enix have recently announced. If you’re unfamiliar with Final Fantasy Agito, you might be pleased to hear that the game is a little different from others in the series.
Instead of playing as a pre-defined character as you would in other games from the franchise, you can create your own character and play through the game how you like. Agito is set in Orience, the same setting that was ravaged by war in the Type-0 games and puts you in the shoes of a cadet in the Dominion of Rubrum. The main goal is to become Agito, a prophesized savior of Orience and of course, fight evil all across the Kingdom. It all sounds very Final Fantasy-esque, but it is nice to see the franchise head in a slightly different direction.
The mobile version of the game looks to be pretty sharp, with good-looking 3D graphics and a slew of improvements to the overall Final Fantasy blueprint. Weekends are said to offer a different gameplay experience than during the week, which is a nice touch as that’s when most people get the best chance to play and overall, this looks like one of the more appealing Final Fantasy titles to hit Android in quite some time. Die-hard fans of the series will of course find a lot to love, but casual fans might something new here that rekindles their love for the RPG franchise. There’s no release date as of yet, but it’s been officially announced and we can’t imagine it taking too long to get here. Take a look at the trailer below, and start waiting.
