A tipster over at Phonearena sent them a picture of the new Samsung Galaxy S5 in its gold version with a Verizon brand on the back. If the only thing holding you back on Verizon from buying the new Galaxy S5 was waiting for the color gold - you will not have much longer to wait as the device has just arrived at the source's store. Verizon is not expected to start selling the new gold model until May 31. This is coming after Samsung said the gold Galaxy S5 would be offered on May 30, so we will have to see if Verizon will start on Friday or May 31, the last Saturday of the month.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy S5 is selling more briskly than the record setting Galaxy S4, but it seems like everybody, including Samsung, is afraid it may all come to an end - they are hurriedly preparing their Galaxy S5 Active, Galaxy S5 Neo, Galaxy S5 Prime, and even a Galaxy S5 mini! Samsung may be thinking if they release it in over 150 countries at once and with several different models, that nobody will notice the lack of excitement this year over their flagship release.
Despite its initial criticism, the Galaxy S5 has proven itself under major scrutiny from reviewers - the display was praised by experts as the best they have ever tested - Samsung got rid of some of their bloatware by at least containing it to a Samsung folder to be installed at the user's desire, and they have made all Galaxy S5's water and dust resistant. They also included a fingerprint scanner and a Heart Rate monitor - some may say those are a blessing and others may simply say, "why?" To try and escape the plastic back criticism, rather than use the faux leather backing like they did on the Galaxy Note 3, which was received rather warmly, they choose to use a backing that looks like the dimples on a Band-Aid (the first thing that came to my mind was like a golf ball...but the Samsung distracters immediately dubbed it a Band-Aid).
Please let us know on our Google+ Page if you will be picking up a Gold Galaxy S5 at Verizon or wouldn't you buy it in any color...as always, we would love to hear from you.
