Got $500 and dying to spend it so it stops burning a hole in your pocket? Perfect. Sony has just the thing for you to spend that cash on, the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet which is now officially available for order. It’s a little pricey compared to some of the other lower cost offerings these days, like the Nexus 7 2013 that you can still purchase and which provides a pretty stellar experience I might add, but if you’re in the market for something that has a little more of a premium feel, a near paper thin profile design, and a bigger display, look no further than Sony’s next gen tablet in the Xperia Z line. If not for anything else, the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet is a surefire win for the water and dust resistance and the digital noise cancellation feature that it demoed in their videos during it and the Xperia Z2’s unveiling at MWC back in February. Fortunately though, those aren’t the only great things about this device.
If you’re someone that likes your technology to look good, Sony has you covered here. The Xperia Z2 tablet is just 0.25-inches thin and only weighs about 15.5 ounces. That doesn’t just add to the looks factor for this device, it makes it much more portable, being able to take up less space in a bag and not weigh you down. In addition to the digital noise cancelling support that you get if you plug in the compatible earbuds, the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet can offer some great quality sound(or dynamic sound quality as Sony describes it) even through the devices main audio output with the front facing stereo speakers. That should make for a great immersive experience for movies music or games. Speaking of games, the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet is powered by a Qualcomm APQ8074AB Quad Core processor clocked at 2.3GHz, so it won’t be having problems running games while you play them.
The Xperia Z2 tablet is running the latest version of Android out of the box, Android 4.4 Kit Kat, and it comes sporting Sony’s 10.1-inch Full HD Triluminos display with Live color LED so things will look gorgeous and sharp. The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet was unveiled back at MWC as we stated above and was opened up for pre-orders back on April 21st, but it is now officially up for normal orders and purchasing as of May 4th, or just under a week ago. You can buy both the 16GB and the 32GB versions of the tablet on either Sony’s Website or on Amazon. The 16GB model retails for $499 and the 32GB model retails for $599.
