A couple of weeks ago, we ran an article stating that HTC were going to release Pink, Red and Blue models of the One M8 handset. Well, as you can see from the main picture, the red version has appeared in the flesh, and it looks pretty good. Pictures of the red HTC One M8 appeared on a Taiwanese forum in various poses, with one picture showing off the relevant retail box. The red HTC One is said to be available via a number of retail outlets in Taiwan and has so far received very little support in the way of marketing. Which isn’t surprising considering that marketing isn’t HTC’s strong suit.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the red version of the HTC One M8, it first appeared sporting a Verizon logo a few weeks ago. Whether or not the red HTC One M8 is an exclusive to Verizon remains to be seen. For once, it looks like Verizon has managed to restrain itself to just the one logo on the rear of the phone. Time will tell whether they can resist plastering their logo on the front of the device before launch.
After the initial launch of the One M8 on March 25th, it looks like HTC is looking to sustain sales of its flagship device by releasing it in various colours, via a staged rollout. And you can be certain that HTC will follow a similar strategy with the HTC One Mini 2 that was finally made official earlier today, the details of which can be found here.
If you’ve already bought an M8 in the standard Gold, Silver or Grey colours, are you upset that the red version wasn’t available at launch?
