Motorola didn't just announce a new low-end smartphone this morning, or a 4G LTE Moto G this morning. But also a new app. This is Motorola Alert. It's a very simple app, and only does one thing, that is to help you track down your friends and family in an emergency. Basically, you can select the contacts that you want to send this alert too, and they'll be able to tell where exactly you are. Which is better than just a phone call, because you may not know where you are, depending on whats going on. Here's the Google Play Store description:
"Motorola Alert lets you quickly alert people important to you when you need them. Simply put your phone on alert, and it will begin sending periodic notifications with your location to the people you designate so they can act fast to get you the help you need. With Motorola Alert you can also set up places such as Home, Work, or School, so that your loved ones can be automatically notified when you leave or arrive."
This is also a great feature for kids, or really just anyone. Because you can let people know where you are without saying a thing, which placing a phone call would do. The only downside here is that the Motorola Alert app is only compatible with Motorola devices like the Moto E, Moto G, Moto X, DROID Maxx, DROID Ultra and the DROID Mini. So it's not compatible with every device out there, unfortunately. But hopefully that changes rather soon. As this is a great feature to have on all Android and even iOS devices. It's available on the Play Store now, for those interested in picking it up. And obviously it's free.
How many of you out there are going to check out Motorola Alert app on the Google Play Store? Let us know in the comments below.
