Earlier this morning, Huawei announced the Ascend P7 in Paris (actually the event is still on-going, yeah they got kinda carried away it looks like), which is a nice looking smartphone from Huawei. The only thing that's keeping most of us from getting too excited is the fact that we know it won't be available in the US. It's going to Europe, the Middle East and Asia later this month though. Huawei has just posted a couple of videos showing off the design of the Ascend P7. They also talk about the inside of the device.
Much of the speaking in these videos are in Chinese, so most of us won't understand it, but they do have subtitles so you can still follow along, which is a good thing. In the video they talk about the fact they ask "why not" instead of "why" and the fact that they have built the world's thinnest 4G LTE smartphone. As well as redefining craftsmanship. They also talk about how the Ascend P7 is a work of art, which it really is. If you've seen any of their other smartphones, like the Ascend P6, you'll notice that Huawei does have good design and build quality. I actually got my hands on the Ascend Mate and Ascend P6 last year and really liked both of them, and would have to say their build quality is right up there with the likes of HTC.
Huawei has a 5-inch full HD display - that's 1920x1080 - on the Ascend P7. There's also a quad-core 1.8GHz processor inside, which Huawei used their own in-house processor as they normally do. There's also 2GB of RAM, 8MP camera, 2500mAh battery which they say can last 24 hours, along with Android 4.4.2. Which is kinda surprising to see the latest version of Android on a Huawei smartphone. It's also just 6.5mm thin. So it's a real winner from Huawei. You can check out the videos down below for the design of the Ascend P7, as well as the inside of the device.
