Looks like BLU is definitely stepping up their game. They have just launched a pretty decent phablet here in the Life Pure XL. Which appears to be their flagship line of devices. After the BLU Life Pure and Life Pure Mini, the Life Pure XL is definitely a keeper. As far as specs go, we’re looking at a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 IPS display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, with a 8-megapixel front-facing camera, A-GPS, HSDPA 850/1900/2100, GSM 850/1800/1900, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, and a 2500 mAh battery. So the specs are definitely there, although I think the battery could have been a bit bigger. But then again BLU’s skin isn’t all that heavy so that battery life shouldn’t be an issue. The battery life on the Life Pure and Life Pure Mini were top notch for me.

BLU appears to be selling the Life Pure XL in two variants. The 16GB model comes with 2GB of RAM, while the 32GB model comes with 3GB of RAM. Which is pretty crazy, and it starts at $349, which is even crazier. Remember that BLU only makes GSM devices, so that these will only work on AT&T, T-Mobile, Straight Talk, and other MVNO’s that use those two networks. What’s interesting here is that BLU is using the Snapdragon 800, but they have not said anything about supporting LTE. Although they announced another phone earlier this week which did support LTE. So we’ll have to look in deeper to see what we can find out. We should have a review unit rather soon.

In the world of low-cost but high-end smartphones, it’s starting to get a bit crowded. We have the Moto G, the upcoming Moto E, the OnePlus One, and now BLU has a serious contender in the Life Pure XL. It doesn’t appear to be available just yet, but we should be seeing it pop up on Amazon pretty soon, as well as Best Buy and a few other retailers. Are any of you interested in the BLU Life Pure XL?
