Android App Updates May 16, 2014: Dropcam, SoundHound, Postmates and More

Dropcam updates to v3.0

This week, Dropcam updated their Android app with all kinds of new goodies. That includes Activity feed, mobile setup, and customizable alerts. For those that are unaware, Dropcam is kind of like a surveillance camera, and it can broadcast to your phone or tablet over the internet. It's actually pretty cool.

SoundHound hits v6.0

SoundHound also updated their Android app this week. It hit the big 6.0 this week, which as you'd expect, brought a ton of changes. Let's have a look at the changelog.

Postmate Grocery Delivery Service expands to Los Angeles

Postmate Deliver Service announced that they will now be delivering groceries in Los Angeles, earlier this week. Not much of an app update, but still nice to see this service expanding a bit more. For those wondering about the delivery fee, $5.75 flat fee for a 1-hour delivery and a 9% convenience fee based on the total cost.

BillGuard Appears in the Play Store

BillGuard, the popular iOS app, finally made it's way to Android this week. It's basically an app that allows you to keep track of what you're spending and what you're spending it on. It also has a pretty cool interface, even if it is a straight port from iOS.

MyGlass App Gets updated

Google's MyGlass app, for Glass obviously, got a nice update this week as well. Bringing it to version 3.0. It's got a beautiful new interface, as seen from the images above, and less bugs. That's always nice to have, in my opinion.

Plex for Android gains Camera Upload

Plex got an update this week, and the headlining feature was the automatic camera uploads. So with version 3.3 of Plex, you can enable automatic camera uploads on your device. Which is a neat idea, except, everyone else already does it. Nonetheless, I'm sure it'll be used quite a bit, seeing as Plex is one of the more popular Chromecast apps out there right now.
