Rogers has really been on a roll the past week or so – they announced that they would exclusively sell the LG G Flex in Canada. This 6-inch curved HD 720p display, comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The 13MP main camera takes good pictures and it has a 2MP front-facing camera (ffc) for video chats and selfies. It has a massive 3500mAh battery for power – and has shown good battery life. If there is a downside to the LG G Flex – it only comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean – hopefully it will soon be updated.
Rogers also pulled off another coup today when they announced they will be the only carrier in Canada to carry the HTC One M8 in the Amber Gold color sometime in mid-May. All carriers will get the Gunmetal Gray and Glacier Silver, but lucky Rogers subscribers will soon have a shot at the ‘luxurious’ Amber Gold.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 will be battling directly with the HTC One M8 and the new LG G3 and the Sony Xperia Z2 devices – all due out soon. The Galaxy S5 has a 5.1-inch Full HD 1080p display with 432ppi. It is powered by the true Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz with 2GB of RAM and a choice of 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. It does have a microSD slot for up to 128GB of additional storage. The camera is an improved 16MP with ISOCELL technology and it should take great pictures.
The Gear 2 Neo is slightly smaller than the Gear 2 with no camera – a 1.63-inch display (320 x 320) with a 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal memory and connects via Bluetooth 4.0 LE. It has a 300mAh battery that will last 2-3 days with typical usage or up to 6 days on low usage.
