Huawei Ascend P7 Leaks Again, Before Official May 7th Launch

Huawei has been creating waves in their home base where the Chinese manufacturer has been giving Samsung a tough time. A few days ago we saw reputed leakster @Evleaks give us some tantalizing details pertaining to the upcoming flagship from Huawei - the Ascend P7. In today's new, French website has leaked some official press shots which not only show off the handset details, but also tantalize us with a view of how Huawei has skinned Android to suit their needs. However, there is one aspect of Huawei's skin that could draw some flak in the future. The leaked images show that Huawei has redesigned all app icons to be squares with rounded edges, and display colors that pop. This design philosophy deviates much from Android's Holo design guidelines and is surprisingly very similar to that of Apple's iOS 7.1. It seems as if Huawei has used the iOS design as 'inspiration' however it needs to be seen whether Apple would sue the Chinese manufacturer or let them get away with it.

In terms of specifications, the Huawei Ascend P7 appears to carry decent specs, as expected of a 2014 flagship. Comparing it to last years' Huawei Ascend P6, the P7 carries an upgrade in almost all hardware components. The screen size has been bumped from 4.7 inches on the P6 to 5 inches on the P7, while the display resolution has also gone up to 1080p full-HD. The processor has seen a bump from 1.5 GHz to a quad-core Kirin 910T processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, with an ample 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage which is expandable thanks to the in-built MicroSD card slot. The cameras have seen a major bump up, the primary camera has been bumped up to 13 mega pixels (MP) from 8 MP on the P6, whereas the secondary video call and 'selfie' camera has gone up to a respectable 8 MP from 5 MP. The battery has not been forgotten and sees a bump up from 2000 mAh to 2500 mAh. The best aspect however, is all of this gets packaged in a sub-7 mm thick body, which would definitely make the Ascend P7 a sleek and stylish device.

In terms of looks, the Ascend P7 seems like a slightly bigger Huawei Ascend P6 and will launch on 7 of May. If you are willing to get yourself an Ascend P7, do give us a shout out in the comments below.
