Amazon has put their popular "Android-based" tablets on sale today. The Kindle Fire HD is starting at $119 for the 8GB and $129 for the 16GB versions. Of course that's with the special offers, aka ads. They'll be a bit more without those. The 7-inch Kindle Fire HDX is starting at $199 and the 8-inch version starts at $339. I reviewed the 8-inch Kindle Fire HDX late last year, and it was a pretty good offering from Amazon. It has a 2560x1600 resolution display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, and 2GB of RAM. It's also running on a forked version of Android which is based off of Android 4.2.2. If you're already heavily vested into the Amazon ecosystem with Amazon Prime and others, then the Kindle Fire HDX is a great tablet. And the Mayday support is amazing as well.
