The HTC One 2014 is definitely no secret at this point. In case you missed the 12-minute hands-on video from a couple weeks ago, we are looking at a small change in hardware design over the previous HTC One, but we are also looking at duo-cameras on the back, which will be interesting. We're also looking at Android 4.4.2 KitKat on board with HTC Sense 6.0. The HTC One 2014 should be announced on March 25th, which is just over a week away, and we can't wait. Frankly, because we are tired of the leaks, we want to see the real thing, don't you?
Today, Three UK has put up a new "Coming Soon" page on their website which lists the Xperia Z2, and Xperia Z1 Compact, alongside the HTC One (M8). Which reads:
"HTC One (M8). The most awarded smartphone of 2013, the HTC One, just got better. HTC will announce their all new HTC One (M8) on the 25th March 2014. Save the date and come back to us to find out when you can get your hands on one."
So the HTC One is really no secret at this point, and it's looking more and more like we are going to see the HTC One available within a few days of announcing the device. Which is something I've been waiting for an Android OEM to do for some time. Since Apple will announce a new phone or iPad and then have it available within 7-10 days and start taking pre-orders that day. But over in Android land, we normally have to wait a month or two – or if it's Sony, we have to wait 6 months for it to come to the US.
The leaks surely aren't done yet, but there's not much else secret about the HTC One anymore. Either way, we're excited for their March 25th event in London and New York City and will be covering it as usual.
