On Monday, Sony announced their newest headphones for the MDR-ZX and MDR-EX family of headphones. We’ll start out with the MDR-ZX750B, which are a pair of Bluetooth wireless headphones that also have NFC pairing, a 40mm driver and are touted to being up to 98-percent of ambient sound. This one also has a built in microphone so you can swap between listening to music and taking a call. Sony is estimating the battery life on this one as around 13 hours of continuous use. These also have noise cancellation, if you’re into that.
There’s also the MDR-ZX610AP, which also has a 40mm neodymium driver, which means you will be able to “hear every note with exceptional clarity and high sensitivity”. This model also has Smart Key mobile app which is available from Google Play. Finally there’s the MDR-ZX310, which has 30mm drivers and feature a “foldaway” design. They are also said to be “perfect choice for fuss-free everyday listening.”
Now onto the earbuds, we’re looking at the MDR-EX650AP, EX110 and EX15, all of which are available now. The EX650AP is obviously the high end model and features as 12mm EX driver which sony states as being “re-engineered for an even more comfortable fit while boosting sound quality.”They also have solid brass for the housing, which are heavier than aluminum, but they should help to remove any unwanted vibrations. This model also has a microphone and remote on-board. Then there’s the EX110 and EX15 which are said to be “affordable step-up in sound quality from your digital music player’s bundled earbuds”. These are all available in various colors. There are also “AP” versions of each which include the in-line microphone and remote control.
Most of these earbuds and headphones are available now, but we should see the rest available in April. We’ve got links down below if you’re interested.
