The prices of the Samsung Galaxy Gear are dropping at an alarming rate - first the carriers dropped the price of the Galaxy Gear from the original price of $329 to $100 and now the box stores are doing it as well - both Best Buy and Future Shop. If you are interested in purchasing a Galaxy Gear at either place, you had better hurry as the sale is scheduled to end by March 28 and all colors - Black, Orange, Ivory, and Grey - are available.
With Samsung set to launch the second generation Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo in Canada on April 11. Paul Brannen, Senior VP, Enterprise and Mobile Solutions, Samsung Canada said:
"We are confident that the GALAXY S5 and new Gear devices will create buzz with Canadians by providing them with the technology that allows them to Play More, Do More and Share More."
The Samsung Gear 2 will be available in Charcoal Black, Gold Brown, and Wild Orange while the Gear 2 Neo will come in Charcoal Black, Mocha Grey and Wild Orange. The Samsung Gear Fit will only come in Charcoal Black we are told. Rogers has revealed a price of $329.99 for the Gear 2, the Gear 2 Neo for $219.99 and the Gear Fit for $219.99.
The new Gear 2 is what we expected at the MWC, but it still had s few surprises up its wristband. One is the fact that it is running Tizen OS for Smartwatches, which makes it run faster and more efficient than the Galaxy Gear - hence Samsung dropping the Galaxy preface. The designer is slimmer at 10mm and the camera is in the bezel rather than the wristband allowing it to use a non-proprietary strap. The ability to change the face, longer battery life and much more...just be prepared to pay...does the $100 for the Galaxy Gear still seem like a bargain?
Please let us know on our Google+ Page if the $100 price of the Samsung Galaxy Gear will be enough to interest you into buying one - or are you waiting for the new Gear 2 or Gear 2 Neo - or perhaps the new Moto 360 that has been making a lot of news lately. As Always, we would love to hear your opinion.
