Motorola Providing Student Discounts on the Moto X as well as Designs for 40 Schools

It's great to be a student, even if you are only taking one class at a time. Want to know why? Student discounts. They are a fantastic thing. Some companies offer some huge discounts, like Microsoft and HP. Now Motorola is offering a discount for students or anyone with a .edu email address. Motorola is offering the Moto X for $339 off contract to students, that's about $60 off the regular price.

But that's not all that Motorola is doing. They also have a new College Collection design gallery. Which has pre-configured color combinations as well as logos and team names for 40 different schools. And they are planning to add more as well. They've got plenty of schools in there including Georgia, Gonzaga, Arizona, Iowa State, Loisville, Kentucky, LSU, University of Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri and many others. These designs look really awesome, and it's a great idea to release this before the NCAA Tournament starts up (who ya got in the tourney?)

It's also worth noting that the logos aren't actually printed on the back of the phone, but they are on the clear case that comes bundled with your Student edition Moto X. So that way if you don't want to sport your team right now, you don't have too. You could even get a wood Moto X and get a clear case with your school's logo on it, Now that would be pretty awesome, now that I think of it. Hopefully Motorola expands the College Collection to the regular MotoMaker, and adds in other teams, like professional sports. It would be great marketing, especially with the baseball season coming up.

For those interested, you can check out Motorola College, although you'll need a .edu address to get the $60 discount on your new Moto X. How many of you are going to pick up a Moto X now?
